Along with Armored Combat and Rapier Combat, the Shire holds Youth Combat practice generally twice per month.

Youth are eligible to participate in combat activities beginning at age 6. There are three Youth Divisions in order to ensure safety for all Youth.

  • Division 1: Age 6-9
  • Division 2: Age 10-13
  • Division 3: Age 14-17

Youth ages 16-17 have the option to participate in Adult Armored Combat with parental permission.

Youth combat is done using padded weapons (boffers), while still preparing youth to participate in Adult Combat once they are old enough.

Youth may participate in Adult Rapier (fencing) activities on a case-by-case basis and with permission from the Rapier Marshal.
